Please help Doc discovered Mom has liver cyst , Now being sent for chest scan...Is this the normal procedure? - liver cyst more condition_symptoms

My mother had some stomach for the exploration and sister than today. said my mother found a cyst in the liver. The doctor told me my mom wants to go back and repeat the analysis and an analysis now make on the chest.
My question is how do they know that there is a cyst and not cancer? Is this serious? Is it usually a chest runs after they found a cyst in the liver?

The chest (probably a TC) to the lungs for cancer. Lung cancer can metastasize (spread) in the liver, leading to tumors with the appearance of cysts.

Do not worry too much, however, because hepatic cysts are usually benign (not much).

*** EDIT ***

The CT can not really determine what mass (something they are not there) is carried out should be. When the mass is found in the liver, ultrasound should be in a position to establish whether it is fixed (by a kind of fabric) or cystic (fluid) or complex (a mixture of solid and cystic).

The cysts are usually not a big problem. Massive are of greater concern, especially if the analysis shows a large amount of blood flow to it.

But to really know what will determine the weight to be carried out, the doctors, a biopsy - a procedure to stick with a needle in the case, take some cells out of it, and under the microscope. This should tell whether the node is malignant or Benin.

CT is probably the best way to see the size of the cyst is and where it is located, etc. are waiting for test results and is probably OK
